En el año 2000 se aprobó la Modificación del Plan General
Metropolitano de Barcelona que establecía el nacimiento de un nuevo distrito de
actividades en el barrio del Poblenou: el 22@. Para celebrar la primera década
de este plan de renovación urbana, el Ayuntamiento y la sociedad 22@BCN han
publicado un volumen que resume la historia y evolución del Plan 22@ hasta el
momento y presenta algunos de los proyectos ya construidos. | In 2000 was approved the

some of the projects already built.
El libro es una herramienta útil para seguir cuál fue la génesis del proyecto, en la que intervinieron equipos de diferentes escuelas de arquitectura, y las soluciones de planeamiento propuestas para la renovación de esta zona industrial. En las reflexiones y retos de futuro se adivinan cuestiones pendientes, como la revitalización de la calle Pere IV -básica para la vertebración del barrio-, la nula relación de las plantas bajas de los nuevos edificios con la calle o la falta de unidad en las nuevas arquitecturas, elementos fundamentales para la creación de ciudad. Cabrá ver si finalmente el 22@ podrá redirigir las actuaciones en las zonas pendientes de renovación y paliar allí estas carencias, o si simplemente quedarán buenas intenciones pendientes. Los proyectos seleccionados para el catálogo son muy heterogéneos y describen un panorama de arquitectura de calidad irregular, que es característica de la zona.
Sorprende que en el relato de todo el libro no hay ni rastro del cuestionamiento del Plan por parte por diversos actores sociales, tanto vecinales como académicos (el Fòrum Ribera Besòs, por ejemplo), por permitir la pérdida de valioso patrimonio industrial de la ciudad, ni su importancia decisiva en la creación del Plan de patrimonio industrial de 2006, que ampliaba la lista de elementos catalogados. Que la historia la escriba una de las partes implicadas no tendría que ser un escollo para obtener una fotografía completa donde, cuando menos, aparecieran mencionados todos agentes del proceso.
10 años de renovació urbana es la memoria de un work in progress que se está viendo afectado por la actual situación económica. Así, por ejemplo, se ha cancelado el proyecto Casa de les Llengües que debía ocupar una zona de Can Ricart (con proyecto de EMBT). El libro aparece ya como el testimonio de otra época, con planificaciones a gran escala, avidez constructora e iconicidad sin problemas presupuestarios. El reto está hoy en ver cómo acaba ese gran proyecto, del que este libro quiere ser la biografía, aunque van a necesitarse más fuentes para acabar de contar su historia.

The book is a useful tool to follow what was the genesis of the project, which involved teams from different schools of architecture, planning and solutions proposed for the renewal of this industrial area. In the reflections and future challenges can be made out outstanding issues such as the revitalization of the street Pere IV -basic for the structuring of the neighborhood-, the lack of relationship between the ground floors of new buildings with the street or the lack of unity in the new architectures, key elements for creating city. We will see whether 22@ will be able to redirect the actions in the areas due for renewal and there remedy these shortcomings, or if there just were unfinished good intentions.
