Matta-Clark reading

Documents from Gordon Matta-Clark's personal library
Stefano Graziani
CCA, 2020

| There is no better complement to the readings made on the Matta-Clark archive than observing the artist's own readings. A very eloquent selection of his books is photographed here.

This small publication shows a selection of books highlighted by Stefano Graziani from among those that are part of the artist's private library in the CCA archives. They have the particularity of containing annotations, underlines ... or carrying markers such as recipes, transport tickets or even recipes inside.

The themes of the books are fascinating. As we have seen in the reading of the archive carried out by Yann Chateigné, his non-fiction library is particularly eclectic: alchemy, cybernetics, networks, history of architecture, psychoanalysis, etc. John Read, Sibyl Moholy-Nagy, Marshall McLuhan or R. Buckminster Fuller share place in the shelves.

The references as a whole show an intellectual universe attentive to complexity and critical observation of the universe.
